Dota 2 Patch Notes: 7.41 Removes Facets & Follow-ups
Updates · Independent community strategy site
The current Dota 2 version is 7.41, released around March 24–25, 2026, and billed as one of the game's biggest gameplay updates in years. Here's what it changed and how the patch has evolved since.
The Headline: Facets Removed
7.41's biggest change is the complete removal of the Facets system, which had existed since 7.36 — roughly 671 days. Some of its effects were folded into innate abilities, Aghanim's Scepter, Aghanim's Shard or talents, while the rest were deleted outright.
Other Major 7.41 Changes
- Innate abilities reworked — innates no longer scale with other ability levels, instead becoming fixed bonuses or scaling with hero level.
- Map objectives swapped — Tormentor and Roshan traded spawn points; Tormentor gained 25% status resistance and no longer damages neutral units.
- New shop items — 8 new purchasable items (Rift Stone, Sanctified Armor, Clara's Crozier, Hydra's Breath and more), the removal of Ring of Health, and a changed Battlefury recipe.
- All 127 heroes received adjustments or reworks.
Follow-up Patches
- 7.41a (Mar 28) — emergency fixes plus balance for about 30 heroes.
- 7.41c (May 7) — balance changes.
- 7.41d (Jun 5) — gameplay update.
- 7.41e (Aug 1) — the "Summer Scrub" update, the latest confirmed as of 2026-09-02.
7.41e's Summer Scrub fixed bugs like the Meepo TP-scroll infinite-gold exploit and added TI2026 team support bundles, predictions and a Fantasy league.
