Here's a roundup of recent Dota 2 news, from officially confirmed crossovers and events to the new-hero rumors floating around the community.
Dota 2 × Monster Hunter Crossover
Valve partnered with Capcom for a limited-time Monster Hunter crossover running 2025-11-11 to 2026-02-06. It introduced hunt-and-craft gameplay, six Monster Hunter-themed hero sets (Dragon Knight as Rathalos, Windranger in Zinogre gear, and more), plus a Palico courier and a Poogie pet.
The Dark Carnival
The Dark Carnival launched around 2026-06-25/26 as Dota 2's biggest event since Crownfall. Its first act, "Midnight Run", is free for everyone, with a story following Legion Commander and Hoodwink escaping the Ringmaster's circus train. The event added five Automaton personas (for Axe, Oracle, Legion Commander, Morphling and Bristleback) at $14.99 each, roughly 20 new hero sets, a "Secret Rooms Pack" at $14.99, and the return of the Candyworks shop.

The Spring 2026 Quartero's Curios event brought new rewards and hero sets.
Rumored New Hero: Arjun
A hero with code ID 159 (npc_dota_hero_arjun) was found in the test server and database, leading the community to speculate about an India-mythology-inspired archer. Abilities, role and release date are all unconfirmed.
The Latest Released Heroes
The most recent officially released heroes are Kez and Largo, both shipped in December of the previous year. The TI2026 support bundles also arrived in August 2026 with the Summer Scrub update, covering sixteen teams with predictions and a Fantasy league.
(Act 2 and Act 3 of the Dark Carnival are rumored for Jul 9 and Jul 23 but unconfirmed, and "Arjun" and "Bex" remain unofficial.)
