Dota 2 Stats: Dotabuff, STRATZ, OpenDota & the 7.41 Meta

Database · Independent community strategy site

Want to check hero win rates, your own stats or the current meta? Dota 2 has three main stats platforms, each with a different focus. This page explains what each one does and summarizes the recent win-rate and pick-rate landscape.

The Three Main Stats Sites

  • Dotabuff — the oldest and most popular, with win-rate and pick-rate leaderboards. No public API, and some features are paid.
  • STRATZ — offers a GraphQL API with win rate, pick rate and ban rate, segmented by bracket.
  • OpenDota — open source, with a REST API at api.opendota.com (including /heroStats).

The Most-Played Hero Ever

Pudge is the most-picked hero in Dota 2 history, with roughly a 33% pick rate and over 1 billion games played (around 1,000,059,649 matches) and an all-time win rate near 50.96–51%. Phantom Assassin sits second at roughly 704 million games.

Win-Rate and Meta Shifts in 7.41

  • At 7.41's launch (late March 2026), Meepo's win rate spiked from 47.2% to about 56.77% — the highest that patch — with Spectre around 55.28% behind. Meepo was temporarily removed from matchmaking twice due to a clone-item bug.
  • After 7.41c (2026-05-07), Elder Titan rose to about 54.81% (+5.50%), with Sniper 53.50% and Chaos Knight 52.96% behind.
  • In 7.41e (around August 2026), the top public pick rates were Pudge 28.2% (about 16.5% ban), Lion 26.8% and Lina 20.4%.

Strong Heroes by Position (7.41e)

  • Carry — Ursa (highest public win rate), Lone Druid (62.7% pro win rate, 64.8% pick/ban), Slark ~60.3%.
  • Mid — Keeper of the Light ~60.7%.
  • Offlane — Enigma over 60%.
  • Support — Bounty Hunter ~57–58%.

TI2026 Group Stage Meta

In the TI2026 group stage, Hoodwink and Mirana were the most-picked heroes (50+ games each), while Treant Protector and Keeper of the Light were the most-banned (KotL banned 76 times).

All win and pick rates are patch-time snapshots that shift with balance changes and sampling — check Dotabuff or STRATZ for live numbers.
